The Association of Palliative Care Social Workers (APCSW) (‘we’ or ‘us’ or ‘our’) gather and process your personal information in accordance with this privacy notice and in compliance with the relevant data protection Regulation and law. This notice provides you with the necessary information regarding your rights and obligations, and explains how, why and when we collect and process your personal data.

APCSW processes your personal information to provide you with information that may be relevant to your professional practice. We will never collect any unnecessary personal data from you and do not process your information in any way, other than already specified in this notice.

- Professional Registration Number
- …and a few other things that help us understand how you work
We collect information in the below ways: –
- Through registrations for membership. This information is held on the site for a short time
- Through ticket purchase. This information is held on the site for a short time
- Through PayPal
How we use your personal data
APCSW takes your privacy very seriously and will never disclose, share or sell your data without your consent, unless required to do so by law. We only retain your data for as long as is necessary and for the purposes specified in this notice.
The purposes and reasons for processing your personal data are detailed below:
We collect your personal data in order to register you as a member and keep in contact with you about matters related to APCSW.
Using forms on this site
When you fill in a contact form on this website, the information you submit gets sent directly to our inbox and also stored on the site for a brief amount of time.
We use a security app (Google reCaptcha) to prevent us getting spam sent through the forms. This app is categorised as preventing unsolicited emails and you will therefore need to accept the ‘marketing cookies’ in order to submit a contact/signup form or retreat booking.
When you fill in the form to become a member, your membership details are save on the website and an account is created for you. You are also added directly to our mailing list, from which you can unsubscribe at any time using the link on the emails. We still need to be in touch with you though if you are a current member.
When you purchase tickets, your details are save to the site for a short period of time. You do not need an account on this website to purchase tickets.
View, change or request deletion of your personal information
At any time, you contact us to request to view, update, delete your personal details, if you are concerned that one has taken place. We need to keep you data for 7 years, are required by governing bodies and insurance.
Who we share your data with
We do not share or disclosure any of your personal information without your consent, other than for the purposes specified in this notice or where there is a legal requirement. APCSW uses PayPal to provide services and business functions. For more information about PayPal, please read their Privacy Statement.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
APCSW only ever retains personal information for as long as is necessary or for the duration of membership.
What rights you have over your data
You have the right to access any personal information that APCSW processes about you and to request information about:

- The recipients to whom the personal data has/will be disclosed
